Since its incorporation in 1974, S P Setia has been a household name in the property development industry. The Group is recognised as one of Malaysia’s leading listed real estate players with a portfolio that encompasses townships, eco sanctuaries, luxury enclaves, high-rise residences, commercial and retail developments.
In 2012, S P Setia was ranked No.1 in The Edge Malaysia Top Property Developers Awards for the 7th time, the only developer to have achieved this feat since the inception of the awards.S P Setia is also the only Malaysian developer to have received four FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Awards by the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI). Setia Eco Park in Shah Alam was recognised for Best Master Plan and Best Residential (Low-Rise) Development in 2007 and 2011 respectively while Setia Eco Gardens in Johor Bahru won for Best Master Plan in 2009 and in 2012 for Best Purpose-Built/ Specialised Project. Locally, the Group also has seven FIABCI Malaysia Property Awards.
The Group is well-established in the three key economic centers of Malaysia, namely Klang Valley, Johor Bahru and Penang. It also has a growing presence in Vietnam since 2007 with two projects – EcoLakes at My Phuoc and EcoXuan at Lai Thieu. In 2011, S P Setia expanded its business to Australia with the launch of Fulton Lane in Melbourne’s Central Business District. Closer to home, the Group has also launched its maiden project in Singapore known as 18 Woodsville. In 2012, S P Setia spread its wings to two other countries. The first was China where the developer was invited by the Malaysian Government to lead the Malaysian consortium formed to jointly develop the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park (QIP). In September 2012, S P Setia acquired Battersea Power Station through another joint-venture consortium to redevelop this iconic landmark in London.
